Which plan should a first-time parent pick?

For most new parents in Singapore, the right answer is an Integrated Shield Plan with a private hospital rider. This covers your hospital prenatal visits, the delivery itself (normal or C-section), and gives the baby immediate coverage from birth. Pair it with a critical illness rider for additional protection.

If budget is the primary concern, the public hospital plan from any of the six insurers is acceptable. The difference is ward class and which specialists you can see.
